A world leader in providing
Augmentative Biological Controls (ABC)
for spider mite pests.
Benemitetm
Benemite is the copywrited logo of Biotactics The spider mite, Tetranychus urticae, is a world wide pest on many crops.

The Pest (Bad Bugs)

The two-spotted spider mite is smaller than a pinhead. It feeds on plant leaves causing tiny white spots to appear on the leaves. They also spin a fine webbing over and around the leaves which may look like fine spider web. When they build up to high numbers they can damage the plant or actually kill it. The two-spotted mite is not the only web-spinning mite to feed on plants, but it is the most common. Outbreaks of spider mites often occur when the weather is hot and dry because the mite can lay more eggs under these conditions. Hot greenhouses and dry interior plantscapes are very favorable environments for spider mites. Some field crops are also vulnerable to mite attack. Strawberry fields, grape vineyards, almond orchards, apple orchards and mint fields are often attacked by spider-mites.

Predatory mites (Biocontrols) are good bugs, Benemitetm
Neoseiulus (Amblyseiulus) californicus, an excellent general mite predator, adapted to a wide renge of environmental conditions. Phytoseiulus persimilis, a widely used spidermite predator for use in greenhouses and strawberry fields Amblyseius fallacis, a predator adapted to Northern latitudes, used in apple orchards and mint fields Galandromus helveolus, a predator used on avocado trees to help control the Persea mite An example of our quality packing system

These tiny beneficial predator mites search your plants for pest mites and kill them.
They are very small and do not bite or harm humans or animals. Once they destroy the plant pest mites, they leave, seeking more spider mites elsewhere. Biocontrols are an alternative to toxic pesticides. The periodic application of biocontrols, to control pests, is called Augmentative Biological Control (ABC).

"One size fits all" does not apply to using predatory mites for controlling spider mites.

Several factors need to be considered before choosing the best predator. The type of plant, the temperature, the humidity and the location(greenhouse, interior plantscape) or outside(full sun or shade), all affect which predator is best for a particular situation. Biotactics has a line of predators that are adapted to many different environmental situations. For example: P. persimilis is well adapted to humid greenhouse situations. Our M. longipes does well on plants grown inside under lights. We have predators for evergreen trees, deciduous trees, ornamental plants, field crops and interior plantscapes. Due to our unique production system, Biotactics has a larger selection of predatory mites than any other producer
